Hey All

I've moved blogs! Everything here will stay here a bit until I figure out what to do with it. The new blog doesn't have anything on it yet, but I've found Wordpress to be a little easier to connect with different social medias and such. Anyway, check out the new blog here.

Just Thoughts

I'm thinking of moving this blog to WordPress. It just seems like 90% of all the blogs I follow are WordPress... and also I can follow them easily via WordPress.. I haven't messed around on there in years and Blogger was just so easy to set up with Google. But I feel like it's maybe unprofessional or something? I mean, do people use Blogger anymore?

I have the WordPress page set up but it's a logistic thing at this point as I've got so many things saved for future posts here that would need to be transferred. WordPress is kinda clunky on my phone, so I'd need to pull my laptop out at some point to look that over.

Seven Books in Seven Days #7

This is the last entry in this series I've been running on weekends over the past month or so, where I talk a bit about the seven books (or series) that most influenced me growing up. See previous entries in this series here: day oneday twoday threeday fourday fiveday six. This will not be in any particular order, as it's hard to put these seven in any sort of favorite to least favorite order.

Yes, Pokémon. Yes, fanfiction.

My obsession with Pokémon runs deep. It's ingrained there, pretty much forever. Though, I rarely watch the show or movies anymore or read the books.. the games, the cards? They still take up more space than they should in my little apartment. (In fact, I own at least one version from each of the game's generations since the very beginning.)

'Salvage the Bones' review

Title: Salvage the Bones
Author: Jesmyn Ward (narrator: Cherise Boothe)
Pages: 261
Format: Audiobook
Published: August 30, 2011
Rating: ★ (out of five)

I first heard about this book and put the audiobook version on hold back in September of 2019... I finally got the notification that I'd gotten it May 10th, 2020. I have NO idea why it took the library so long - there were 50+ copies and you're not able to renew - but I'm glad to have finally got it. Cherise Boothe did a great job as narrator and it elevated the whole thing.

June Wrap-Up 2020 + July Goals

I think the theme for 2020 is going to be 'it's been rough' because, again, June was rough.

Pile o'notebooks & coffee sustenance

I just started my old job again. Things are slow as everything is trying to pick up. I've seen no evidence of this, but I'm told it has. My biggest worry is getting laid off again since COVID-19 has spiked, again, and that was the reason I was laid off the first time. We'll see.
